There are facilities in the test centres to take corona test for babies and kids too. The process is the same as adults. Kindly read my post regarding my corona test experience for detailed information.

Throat swab for babies and kids

I and my wife had witnessed a kid taking a corona test at the corona test centre at the Frankfurt airport. Apart from that, there were 5 months baby was near to us at the airport. Her parents said that their baby took corona test and they took the sample from deep into the mouth (throat swab). But the baby seems to be normal after the test. The people who are taking the test are very friendly and they do it carefully. So, in my opinion, there shouldn’t be any issues for babies or kids after the test.

Travel to Germany

As per the current rules, kids less than 6 years old are not necessary to take the corona test.

My recommendations

As I have mentioned in my post earlier, test personal tried five times to take the sample. In order to avoid that, it would be better to take the sample without cleaning the tongue while brushing. I’m not sure whether it helps or not.

Alternatively, you can also take the test after having food. This will let the food particles to deposit on the tongue (throat) and it may help to get the samples easily. Make sure you don’t eat or drink before 15 to take the sample for corona test.

These are my recommendations but I’m not an expert in this and I don’t know exact results.

Identify verification on the corona test report

It’s also quite common that people may have a fear that the corona test report may not be without identity verification on the corona test report. Based on my experience it’s not really necessary. There are few reasons why we don’t need the personal identification information on the corona test report and there is no use to spend extra amount unless it’s required as per airlines guidelines or destination country guidelines.

Details on the report

You can find the following details on the corona report from the Centogene.

• First name
• Last name
• Patient number
• Date of birth
• Sex
• Address (Germany)

Information from the portal

While registering for the corona test, you have to provide all the personal details which are mentioned below.

• Salutation
• Surname
• First name
• Date of birth
• Nationality
• Address (Germany)
• Email address
• Passport details
• Passport size photo

Personal identification number or Patient number is the auto-generated unique identification number for each patient.

Payment confirmation

You can also download and have a copy of the payment confirmation from your bank account.

Evidence

The above mentioned 3 points play as good evidence that you haven’t manipulated the test report. In case of any difficulties on the destination airport, you can also login to the portal directly and download the report in front of the officials.

My experience

At Delhi airport, no one has asked any details. They have just compared the below points which I have entered in the reporting form and the details from corona report.

• Name
• Corona negative statement

They have verified the passport number which I have entered on the reporting form with the original passport.
