Finding a cheap flight ticket is one of the challenging things for travellers. Especially it is difficult to get more baggage for the affordable price. Here are some of the cheapest options to book a flight from India to Germany and from Germany to India.
I have also shared my experience about the flight rates and baggage experience in this post.
Information about the flight from India
- It’s quite good to choose the nearest destination to your university.
- List of Airports in Germany – Click here
- If you are traveling first to Germany for the first time, it will be difficult for you to get the correct train or buy tickets on the machine. So, it is better to request or arrange for someone to pick up you from the airport. There are many students who are willing to help the newcomers.
- While you are coming for the first time, you need more dresses and other extra stuff. So, choose an airline that provides more baggage (British Airways, Air India).
- People who are not having an option to reach the nearest airport should travel by train or bus to the destination. It is possible to book a “Rail and Fly”. It means, once you book the flight ticket, you will also pay for the train ticket from which you can save some euros.
I will explain the things which you should know before buying a trolley and also other important details in my next post. Subscribe to my blog to get the notification immediately. Do not worry, I will not spam your email with lots of unwanted emails or promotions.
Rail and Fly procedure
- You will get a code along with your receipt.
- Once you reach the airport, you should go to the ticket machine and select the “rail and fly” option and then type the code.
- It generates a ticket for you, with which you could travel to your destination.
- If you don’t know how to operate the ticket machine, you can also visit the Deutsche Bahn information (DB Information) or ticket counter which is available in all the important train stations to get your ticket with that code.
- It includes travel in ICE/IC/RE/IRE/RB, etc. from the airport to any destination throughout Germany.
Note: It will be difficult to manage if you bring 3 baggage. So if possible keep 1 euro, 2 euros changes to take the trolley to the airport to transfer the baggage. Sometimes you need a credit or debit card.

My experience
Booking a ticket through an agency is always cheaper than the airlines. Sometimes the price will be same. It is also possible to get extra luggage while booking through the agencies. I have booked several times though agencies and I’m really satisfied with their service and also price.

- You have to transfer money to the given account (send through email by corresponding travel agency) and send them the proof (Screenshot or Pdf of the transaction)
- Once you sent the proof, you will get the ticket in an email
